Beck Branch, Prairie Creek, and Renner Road Lift Stations Improvements
Owner: North Texas Municipal Water District
Project Description
A comprehensive rehabilitation program is underway across three major regional lift stations in the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) system, enhancing critical wastewater pumping capacity and system resilience.
Project scope includes
Beck Branch Lift Station: Replacement of four submersible solids-handling pumps rated at 3,500 gpm at 82 feet TDH, supported by new stainless steel discharge piping and guide rail systems.
Prairie Creek & Renner Road Lift Stations: Installation of 4,160V vertical close-coupled solids-handling pumps ranging from 200 HP to 400 HP, designed to manage peak wet-weather flows exceeding 40 MGD combined.
Electrical & Controls Modernization: Full replacement of motor control centers (MCCs), switchgear, and low-voltage variable frequency drives (VFDs), along with SCADA integration for enhanced system monitoring and control.
Civil & Structural Enhancements: Deep excavations up to 42 feet, permanent bypass connections, sheet piling for excavation support, and wet well rehabilitation with protective coatings.
Safety & Ventilation Upgrades: Installation of H₂S and combustible gas detection systems, ventilation improvements to declassify dry wells, and construction of conditioned electrical rooms for equipment protection.
These upgrades ensure continuous service of vital lift stations and support wastewater conveyance reliability, system safety, and operational efficiency.
