Springtown Water Treatment Plant Improvements
A major capacity enhancement was completed at the Springtown Water Treatment Plant, boosting the facility’s ability to reliably meet growing potable water demands across the region.
Project highlights include
High-Efficiency Pumping Systems: Installation of new high-service pumps (1,200 gpm at 230 feet TDH, 60 HP), filter supply pumps (700 gpm at 305 feet TDH, 125 HP), and backwash pumps (1,200 gpm at 29 feet TDH, 75 HP), each equipped with vibration monitoring and bearing temperature RTDs for advanced condition tracking and long-term reliability.
Structural Enhancements: Construction of new concrete foundations and grout-anchored baseplates to support pump assemblies and ensure stable, durable operation.
Electrical Modernization: Upgrades to motor control centers (MCCs) with inverter-duty drives, providing enhanced operational flexibility and energy efficiency.
Seamless Integration: Strategic construction sequencing maintained continuous operation of existing treatment trains while integrating new equipment with minimal disruption.
These improvements significantly increased the plant’s firm capacity, improved operational resilience, and positioned the City of Springtown to support continued regional growth and water quality assurance.
